The planner dashboard tab in EDGEBIC by User Solutions is the plan-quality tab: it shows schedule adherence and attainment as its two headline metrics, side tiles for work in progress, late jobs, and the bottleneck, and a 14-day forward load heatmap by work center. It is the tab you open right after a schedule run to confirm the plan actually got better.

It is one of four cockpit tabs, toured in the EDGEBIC dashboard tabs, and it sits between the shop-floor standup dashboard and the strategic executive dashboard. Before You Start

  • Actual starts are being logged. Adherence measures how close actual starts landed to planned starts.
  • Jobs have due dates. Attainment measures completed jobs against their due dates.
  • You accept there is no auto-refresh. Click Refresh now after a schedule run.

Step 1: Open the Planner Tab

Open the Dashboard section from the main navigation and click the Planner tab. It loads in the light office theme. Click Refresh now to pull the current picture, and note the last-updated time stamp so you know how fresh the numbers are.

Step 2: Read Adherence and Attainment Together

The two headline metrics answer two different questions:

  • Schedule adherence is the share of operations over the past 14 days that started within an hour of their planned start. It targets 90 percent and measures whether the plan is being followed. Its delta note tells you how many operations moved off plan.
  • Attainment is the share of completed jobs in the window that finished by their due date. It targets 85 percent and measures whether output is landing on time.

High adherence with low attainment means jobs start on plan but under-deliver. Low adherence with high attainment means the floor resequences around the plan yet still hits due dates. The pair tells you whether a delivery issue is a sequencing problem or an output problem.

Step 3: Read the Side Tiles

Three side tiles give the operational context: work in progress counts the jobs currently running, late jobs counts the non-completed jobs whose plan lands after their due date, and the bottleneck tile names your constraint station or shows a dash when none is flagged. The work-in-progress tile is a Live count; the late-jobs and bottleneck tiles are plan-based.

Step 4: Scan the 14-Day Heatmap

The heatmap grids every work center against the next 14 days, coloring each cell by how loaded the station is that day. Cells over 100 percent load appear red, marking over-commitment. Empty cells are days with no scheduled work. Use it as the forward hotspot map that complements the deeper capacity heatmap report.

Confirming a Schedule Run Helped

The planner tab is the natural after-action check. Run a schedule, switch here, click Refresh now, and compare adherence, attainment, and the late-jobs count against their prior values. They should hold or improve. Then scan the heatmap for new red cells, because a reschedule that fixes one hotspot can create another downstream.

How to Check It Worked

The tab is read-only, so nothing is saved. Confirm it worked by checking that the last-updated stamp reflects your refresh and that the metrics respond to a schedule run. If near-term jobs look unchanged after a reschedule, that can be correct: some reschedule modes preserve a frozen window near the present and only rearrange future dates.

  • Reading either metric alone. Adherence and attainment answer different questions. The diagnosis comes from the pair.
  • Forgetting to refresh after a schedule run. The tab does not auto-update, so a stale view hides the effect of the run you just made.
  • Over-reading the buffer field on the bottleneck panel. Buffer telemetry is a placeholder that sits at zero. Read the load percentages instead.
  • Ignoring new red heatmap cells. A reschedule can move a hotspot rather than remove it. Always scan the forward heatmap after a run.
