To see a work center's load for next month in EDGEBIC by User Solutions, open the Resource Calendar or the machine's per-day capacity view and set the date range to the coming month. Each day shows a stacked bar of Loaded, Free, and Over capacity hours, so you can read at a glance which days are full, which have room, and which are already over-promised.

Before You Start

  • The plant has a current schedule. Load only means something against a plan, so run Drive Schedule first if the plan is stale.
  • You know which machine you are checking and the window you care about, such as the next four weeks.

Step 1: Open the Load View

You have two routes to the same forward-load picture:

  • On the work center's row, click the 📊 per-day capacity button to open the Per-Day Capacity dialog for that machine.
  • Or open the Resource Calendar under Schedule, which shows load and capacity across machines.

Step 2: Set the Range to Next Month

Set the From: and To: dates to cover the coming month. The view lists every day in the range with its capacity and its committed load.

Step 3: Read the Daily Bars

Each day shows a stacked bar and a set of figures:

The summary card totals the range: total days, total capacity, loaded, free, and over capacity. Read down the month for the shape of the load, not just the total.

Step 4: Read Backlog for Forward Remaining Work

The Resource Calendar also offers a Backlog reading: the forward sum of remaining hours per machine per day. A long job burning down over several days reads as a decreasing remaining total rather than repeating its full size on every day it touches. Backlog answers how much work is still waiting from here forward, which complements the loaded-versus-capacity picture.

What This Tells You (and What It Does Not Change)

The load view is read-only. It shows where a machine is tight, has room, or is over-promised, so you can decide whether to act. It does not move any work. To change the plan you would adjust capacity, reroute steps, or rerun Drive Schedule; the load view is where you decide whether you need to.

How to Read It Well

  1. Scan for red days. Over-capacity days are where the plant will miss, and they hide inside a comfortable monthly total.
  2. Compare weeks. A machine that is jammed for three weeks and idle for one has a leveling problem, not a capacity problem.
  3. Before promising new work, check the specific week it would land in, not the monthly average.
  4. Drill into a heavy day if you need the job list behind the number; the load cell opens the detail of what makes up the hours.

Common Mistakes

Trusting the monthly total. A balanced month can hide weekly overloads. Read the load day by day and week by week.

Reading load without a fresh plan. Load is computed against the current schedule. If the plan is stale, rerun Drive Schedule before you trust the bars.

Confusing loaded with backlog. Loaded is committed hours on a day; backlog is remaining work summed forward. Use loaded to see how full a day is, backlog to see how much is still queued.

Treating the view as an action. Looking ahead changes nothing. Adjust capacity or rerun the schedule to actually move work.
