The Work Center Progress report in EDGEBIC by User Solutions is the step-level view of how far along a job is: one row per BOR step with net hours, actuals, pieces made, sequence, and percent complete. It is the report you open when a job-level number tells you something is behind but not which operation. Before You Start
- Jobs have been scheduled at least once. The report reads the schedule, so an empty plan produces an empty report.
- Actuals are being logged. Percent complete compares actual hours to planned hours, so with no actuals every step reads zero.
- You know the job number you want, or you are prepared to view all jobs. The report offers a job filter and an all-jobs view.
Step 1: Open the Report
Open Reports from the main navigation. In the Operational group, click Work Center Progress. The report opens in the shared report window, with the grid, and the footer buttons Column Details, Export to PDF, Export to Excel, and Close.
Every report is point-in-time. It queries the database fresh when you open it and holds nothing running in the background, so opening it during production is safe.
Step 2: Filter to a Job or View All
Use the inline filter at the top to enter a job number, or leave it set to view all steps across the plant. Filtering to a single job is the usual move, because the report is at its most useful as the drill-down that follows a job-level question.
When you view all jobs, the grid becomes a plant-wide list of every step and its progress, which is heavier to read but useful for a shift lead scanning for any operation that has stalled.
Step 3: Read the Step Rows
Each row is one BOR step. The columns that carry the most information are these:

| Net hours | The planned run hours for the step |
| Actual hours | Hours already logged against the step |
| Pieces made | The piece count recorded at the kiosk or in Log Actuals |
| Replacement work center | The machine the step actually ran on, if it was swapped from the routing's original |
| Percent complete | Actual hours divided by planned hours, falling back to pieces when no hours exist |
Read the percent complete column against net and actual hours together. A step at 40 percent with 41 of 101 hours logged and nothing added in three days is a stall, not slow progress.
Step 4: Confirm a Column with Column Details
If any column puzzles you, click Column Details in the footer. A two-pane dialog opens: the left list shows every documented column of this report, and the right pane gives the plain-English description, the formula where one applies, the unit, and worked example values. What Changes When You Run It
Nothing. Like every report, Work Center Progress is read-only. It reflects the current schedule and the actuals logged so far, and it never edits a row.
What changes is what you do next: log the missing actuals, move a job on the Gantt, or re-run the scheduler. None of those actions happen from this report, and none touch completed work.
How to Check It Worked
After logging actuals or fixing a stalled step, re-open the report with the same filter. The step you worked should show its percent complete move up, and its actual hours should reflect the new entries. If Job Progress said 60 percent and the missing 40 was one CNC step, that step's row is where the change lands. If the number did not move, the actuals were not saved against that step.
Common Mistakes
- Reading the report with no actuals. Percent complete is hours-based, so an empty actuals log makes every step read zero regardless of floor reality.
- Expecting station totals. This report is step-grain. For a machine's overall load and utilization, use the Work Center Utilization report.
- Ignoring the replacement work center column. A blank routing machine on a swapped step is not missing data; it is telling you the step moved.
- Filtering to a job with no schedule. An unscheduled job has no steps to report, so the grid comes back empty.
