To reschedule after a machine comes back online in EDGEBIC, first restore the work center's capacity by resetting its per-day override or re-checking Is Available, then tick the affected jobs and press Schedule + Re-Schedule. Step One: Restore the Machine's Capacity

Match how the machine was removed.

If you used a per-day capacity override

  1. On the work center's row, click the per-day capacity button (tooltip Per-day capacity), or in the Resource Calendar double-click the machine's Total Capacity cell for that date.
  2. Find the day you had set to zero or a reduced value.
  3. Click Reset on that row. The tooltip reads "Remove the override and revert to the shift default." The day returns to its normal capacity.
  4. Click Close.

If you marked the work center unavailable

  1. Open the Work Center editor for the machine.
  2. Re-check Is Available. An unavailable work center is skipped by the scheduler entirely.
  3. Confirm Effective Date is not set to a future date, which would keep the machine out of the plan.
  4. Save.

Step Two: Reschedule the Affected Jobs

  1. On the Drive Schedule tab, tick only the jobs that were pushed off the machine.
  2. Press Schedule + Re-Schedule.
  3. Read the Confirm Scheduling dialog, answer Yes, and let the pass complete.

The not-started operations reflow onto the recovered capacity. If the machine came back early, those operations can pull earlier, improving finishes. Started and completed operations do not move.

How to Check It Worked

  1. Open the machine's capacity view and confirm the recovered day now shows normal capacity, not zero.
  2. On the Gantt, confirm the affected jobs now have operations back on the recovered machine.
  3. Read Days Late on the recovered jobs and confirm it moved the way you expected.
  4. Confirm no untouched job changed by comparing one unselected job's dates before and after.

A Worked Recovery

A mill was booked out of the plan on Tuesday for a spindle repair. You had blocked it with a per-day capacity override of zero on that date, and every job that needed the mill Tuesday was pushed to Wednesday and later. The repair then finishes Monday evening, a full day early.

Open the mill's per-day capacity dialog, find Tuesday, and click Reset. The day reverts to its shift default, so the mill offers its normal hours again. Nothing has moved yet, because restoring capacity and rescheduling are two separate steps.

Now tick the jobs that were displaced off the mill and press Schedule + Re-Schedule. Their not-started mill operations reflow onto Tuesday's recovered hours, and because the capacity returned a day sooner than planned, several finishes pull back in. A job that read three days late may now read one, and one that was projected late may recover entirely.

Common Mistakes and Gotchas

  • Restoring capacity but not rescheduling. The old plan that routed around the machine stands until you run. Reset the capacity, then reschedule the affected jobs.
  • Resetting the wrong lever. If you blocked the machine with an override, re-checking Is Available will not help, and vice versa. Undo the same lever you used.
  • A future Effective Date. If the work center's Effective Date is ahead of the recovered day, the scheduler still treats it as not yet commissioned. Confirm the date.
  • Leaving the override at zero. Typing a new number is not the same as Reset. Use Reset to return the day cleanly to the shift default.
