How to Convert Several Quotes to Orders at Once in EDGEBIC
EDGEBIC by User Solutions converts a batch of accepted quotes in one action: tick the rows, click Convert Selected to Orders, and each eligible quote becomes a manufacturing order. It is the end-of-day move for a shop that quotes more than it converts one at a time. This is the whole sequence, including what the summary is telling you and why the new jobs arrive unscheduled.

Before You Start
- The quotes have been accepted by the customer. Conversion is a commercial decision the software does not make for you.
- Each quote carries a product and a quantity greater than zero, which is what makes it eligible.
- The quotes were simulated, so their estimated dates and costs are real numbers rather than blanks. See how to simulate multiple quotes at once.
Step 1: Narrow the Grid to the Batch
Open the Quote tab and filter to the set you are converting: by customer, by status, or by sales order. The filter matters more than usual here, because leaving every row unticked targets all eligible quotes in the current filter, which is a fast route to converting more than you meant to.
Step 2: Select the Quotes
Tick the row checkbox on each quote to convert. Alternatively leave them all unticked and let the filter define the batch, but only when you have confirmed the filter is exactly the set you want.
Step 3: Convert
Click Convert Selected to Orders in the toolbar. A confirmation dialog reports two counts:

| Skipped | Quotes in your selection that do not qualify, most often because they are already converted |
Read both numbers before you confirm. The eligible count is the sanity check that your selection matched your intention.
Confirm, and a summary appears when the batch completes: how many succeeded, how many failed, and the first failures. A failed row never blocks the rows behind it.
Step 4: Check the New Orders
Each eligible quote produces one manufacturing order, named from its quote number, and the quote's status becomes Converted. The order carries the quote's product, quantity, due date, cost, unit price, customer, and sales order link, plus a note recording that it was converted from the quote along with any customer-facing and internal notes that were on it. That note is worth reading before scheduling, because planner guidance written at quote time usually lives there.
Double conversion is blocked, so re-running the action on a batch that already went through produces skips rather than duplicates.
Step 5: Prioritize, Then Schedule Once
Move to the Drive Schedule tab. The new jobs are in the grid with the Unscheduled badge and no capacity claimed.
Set priorities across the whole batch first, either by typing numbers in the Priority cell or by dragging rows into order. Then tick the new jobs and run Schedule and Re-Schedule once. Scheduling the batch in a single run is what lets the engine sequence them against each other rather than letting whichever job you processed first take the pick of the capacity.

How to Check It Worked
Open the Drive Schedule grid and count the new rows against the eligible count from the confirmation. Then check one order in detail: product, quantity, due date, and customer should match the quote it came from. After the scheduling run, compare the job's planned dates against the quote's simulated dates. They can legitimately differ if capacity changed between the simulation and the run, for example a holiday or downtime added in the meantime, and that difference is worth knowing before you tell the customer anything.
Common Mistakes
- Converting with a filter you did not check. With nothing ticked, the filter is the batch.
- Reading skipped as failed. An already-converted quote is a skip and is working as designed.
- Scheduling each new job as it lands. Run the batch once so the engine can sequence the whole set.
- Assuming the simulated dates are now promises. They are the quote's estimate. The plan is what the scheduler produces, and it is the number to quote back if it moved.
- Editing a quote's quantity after acceptance and before conversion. The order inherits what the quote says at conversion time, and the simulation behind it is then out of date. Re-simulate first.

A: Filter the quote grid to the customer or the status you are working, tick the six rows, and click Convert Selected to Orders. Read the confirmation counts before you accept it, because the eligible number is your check that all six really qualified rather than five plus one you already converted this morning. Then move to the Drive Schedule grid, where the six new jobs are sitting unscheduled, and set priorities across the whole batch before you run anything. Schedule once with all six selected. Running the scheduler six times as each order lands gives the first job the pick of the capacity and makes the last one look artificially late, which is a queue-order artifact rather than a real constraint.
Q: One row in the batch failed. Did the others go through?
A: Yes. A failure on one row does not stop the loop, and the summary at the end reports how many succeeded, how many failed, and the first failures so you have something specific to work from. Go to the Drive Schedule grid and confirm the successful orders are there before you retry anything, because converting a quote twice is blocked and you do not want to chase a problem that does not exist. The usual causes of a single failure are a job number that already exists or a quote whose product or quantity was edited after the simulation, and both are visible on the quote in a few seconds.
