How to Filter the Job List in EDGEBIC

To filter the job list in EDGEBIC, use the search box and Group view toggle on the Drive Schedule grid, and the per-job checkboxes and Search jobs box in the Job View left panel. Filtering is how you find the work you care about in a grid of hundreds of orders. It is not the same as selecting: EDGEBIC by User Solutions plans the rows you tick, not the rows a filter happens to show, and keeping those two ideas separate is what stops accidental plant-wide runs.

Before You Start

  • You have orders on the Drive Schedule grid, or scheduled jobs to view on the Job View tab.
  • You understand the split between filtering (what you see) and selecting (what a run touches).

Filter the Orders Grid

  1. Open the Schedule area and select the Drive Schedule tab.
  2. Type into the search box above the grid. It matches across all columns at once, so a fragment of a job number, a product name or a customer id narrows the grid in one step.
  3. Toggle Group view mode on the toolbar to nest each job under its parent sales order. The per-job Status column then shows the words Scheduled, InProgress, Delayed or Completed. Group view is session-only: a restart returns you to the flat grid.

Filter the Job View Gantt

  1. Open the Job View tab. The left panel lists jobs and work centers, each job with a checkbox. On first open every job is checked.
  2. Untick jobs to remove their bars from the Gantt. Work center rows stay visible even when their bars are hidden.
  3. Type into the Search jobs box to find a job number quickly.
  4. Click Select All Jobs to re-check everything at once.
  5. Set the date window with the Start and End pickers. The default runs from today minus seven days through today plus three weeks. Clear a picker to fall back to the job's own first or last date on that side.

Filtering is a lens. Nothing you do with these controls edits an order or moves a bar. That is exactly why they are safe to reach for constantly.

How to Check It Worked

On the grid, confirm the row count dropped and the rows on screen match your fragment. On the Job View Gantt, confirm only the ticked jobs draw bars and the timeline spans the window you set. If a job you expected is missing from the Gantt, its checkbox is unticked or it falls outside the date window: search for it, tick it, and widen the horizon if needed.

Common Mistakes

Confusing the filter with the selection. Narrowing the grid does not narrow what a run plans. After filtering, tick the specific rows you want, or use Select All against the filtered set, and read the confirm dialog before you commit.

Expecting Group view to persist. It is session-only. Set it each session if you prefer the sales-order-nested layout.

Assuming a hidden job is a deleted job. Unticking a job on the Job View panel only hides its bars. The job is still scheduled and still holds its capacity. Tick it again to bring it back.

Looking for a job outside the date window. The Job View Gantt only draws what falls inside the Start and End pickers. A job scheduled next month will not appear in a window that ends this week. Widen the horizon or clear a picker.

Q: I have 200 open jobs and I only want to look at this week's Acme work. How do I get there fast?

A: Combine three filters. Start on the Job View tab and set the date window with the Start and End pickers so the Gantt only spans this week. Then use the Search jobs box in the left panel to type the job-number fragment your Acme jobs share, or tick them individually from the filtered list. If you would rather work by customer relationship than by date, switch the Drive Schedule grid to Group view mode, which nests each job under its parent sales order so the Acme orders sit together. The grid search box also matches across all columns at once, so typing the customer id narrows the whole grid in one step.

Q: I filtered the grid, clicked Select All, and the run touched jobs I did not expect. What went wrong?

A: Select All applies to the filtered set, which is what makes it useful, but it is only as narrow as your filter. If the filter was broader than you thought, or you had already changed it after ticking, the selection swept in extra rows. The confirm dialog is the check that saves you: it reports how many jobs are new and how many will be rescheduled before anything runs. Read that count, and if it is higher than the number of rows you meant, answer no, tighten the filter, and select again. Group view mode is session-only, so a restart drops you back to the flat grid.
